Vandyke Brown
This image is an exploration of the Vandyke Brown Photographic Printing process. Painting a light sensitive emulsion onto paper and exposing that in a UV light box compressed with a digital negative on top of that. The digital negative is exposed on to the paper. After exposure, it is developed in a H2O bath, then placed in a fixing solution, and finally finishing the developing process by placing it into another H2O wash for anywhere from fifteen to twenty minutes.
This particular image was made in the concept of Growth, focusing on the growth humanity has had on the world around it in the specific form of industrialization. This is a large panoramic put together into three separate files in Adobe Photoshop. It was then printed out in three separate digital negatives and taped together to create one large panoramic image—really drawing you into the details of the building and the road sign.
